What if I mistakenly hunt an animal?

Errors are hard to avoid. Whether due to poor judgment, lack of experience, or a series of inevitable circumstances, wildlife is mistakenly killed each year. Many people report to the authorities, but more people leave the animals in the jungle to allow them to rot. The Office of the Protected Area Office has been encouraging people who mistakenly kill animals to report on their own initiative. The animals recovered by the COS will be allocated and used where they are needed.

Hunters who voluntarily report such situations to relevant authorities will be treated differently from those who deliberately kill wildlife or who do not report wrong hunting of wild animals. The Office of the Protected Area Service believes that the true test of the hunter is not whether it has committed such an error, but how he/she handled it. The relevant personnel will investigate all unsolicited illegal killings and assess the appropriate behavior.

RAPP is called Report All Poachers and Polluters, which reports all poachers and polluters programs. It is an official program in the form of free phone calls and websites. It provides residents with reports known and suspected of violating fish, wildlife or the environment. Protection of laws and regulations provides the means to provide behavior. The report can be conducted anonymously, eliminating the risk of the whistleblower facing the offender. If you encounter a conflict between wildlife and humans and affect public safety, you can also call the RAPP service. The service is online 24 hours a day, all year round. RAPP phone number: 1-887-952-7277, mobile phone can dial #7277

In order to maintain a good hunting environment, please actively cooperate with the report! One of your reports may play a decisive role in the reproduction of the local population or the protection of the ecological environment! The BC Wildlife Society will provide up to $2,000 in prizes for providing effective information to sanction offenders for reporting.

※With the "Wildlife Protection Act" penalties for poachers:
