Recently, a discussion about "the hunter's favorite African prey" came up on the list. After an informal round of voting, six kinds of African animals won the unanimous favor of the hunters. Surprisingly, only one of the famous "African five tyrants" was selected. Faced with such heated discussions, the hunting lords couldn't hold back a gossip. Let's join us together to see what kind of six animals are so honoured and become the animals that we all look forward to hunting!
Cape Buffalo
The only representative of the “African Five Pains” was known for its grumpy temperament, huge size and strong offensive power. A pair of long, curved, large horns, with dark brown to black body hair, typically have an average adult bull weight of about 1,000 pounds, and particularly large individuals can go to 1600 pounds. In African five tyrants, the hunting price of African buffaloes is relatively cheap, which may be one of the reasons why it is more popular among hunters.
Kudu

The kudu may be the most valuable antelope prey in Africa. The large, spiral-shaped head is a symbol of the male antelope (females do not have horns). An adult male antelope weighs about 500 pounds, and particularly large individuals are accessible. 600 pounds. The kudu's hair is usually brown, gray-blue to auburn, and has between 4 and 12 white stripes. It is also known as the stingray. This coat color is conducive to its hiding in the African jungle. They like to colonize the bushes and open woodland in small groups. They are very good at hiding in vegetation when they are in danger, and they are very sensitive to sight, smell and hearing. They are considered to be one of the most difficult animals in Africa.

Wildebeest
Also called wildebeest, people sometimes jokingly call it "the buffalo of the poor" and it is one of the largest numbers of prey in South Africa. The big horns on the head often make people mistake it as a cow, but in fact it is a kind of antelope. The blue wildebeest is widely distributed in northern South Africa, while the black wildebeest mainly inhabits the southern plains. Adult male wildebeests typically weigh around 500 pounds, and particularly large individuals have 600 pounds, almost the same size as zebras and kudus.
South African Gemsbok
If you do not want to go as far as Africa, there is an opportunity to hunt South African sword antelopes (lottery) in New Mexico, which was introduced from Africa between 1969 and 1977. The South African serow is native to southern and south-western Africa. A pair of long and straight horns are the weapons they are most proud of. Both males and females have such horns and are often used against natural enemies. In their all-brown fur, often with different degrees of white hair and black hair at different sites, so that each individual has a unique mark. Adult male antelopes typically weigh between 400 and 530 pounds, making them one of the highest valued prey in Africa.
Warthog
Facial warts, long-toothed tusks, sparse hairs and small heads make the piglets one of the ugliest animals in Africa. They are mainly inhabiting the Sahara Desert in Africa. They are typical omnivorous animals. They are also the only pigs in the world that can survive without water for months and they are very viable pigs. So the number is very abundant so far. Compared with other types of pigs, the weight range of warty pigs is quite different, and adult males can weigh between 130 and 330 pounds. Despite the ugly appearance and poor growing conditions, it seems that the pigs are still not forgotten by the hunters.
Impala (Impala)
This kind of antelope with graceful long legs, quick movement, and graceful body is equivalent to the North American pronghorn. An adult male antelope weighs about 100 pounds and is often called the highland antelope. They are generally brown, with a white abdomen. A pair of uniquely shaped, harp-like high angles on top of the male's head and females have no corners. Impala is famous for its jumping ability. A single jump can reach a height of 10 feet and a distance of up to 30 feet.
